Carveries Raise Funds For Animals In Need

The Royal Oak, Bolton & its sister venue The Game Cock Inn, Blackburn have come together to announce their upcoming fundraising initiative in support of The Destitute Animals Shelter.

The popular carvery pubs will be donating £1 from each dessert sold to the renowned local charity, which is recognised for its dedication to animal welfare and rehoming in the Lancashire region.

The launch of the fundraising campaign comes at a time when shelters across the country are inundated with animals being handed over to them due to financial disparity during the cost-of-living crisis.

In December, The Royal Oak along with hospitality partners Bidfood also donated a Christmas turkey to the shelter so their furry residents could enjoy a full festive feast - complete with Yorkshire puddings and all the trimmings - a gesture which was very well received by those with four-legs at the charity on Christmas Day.

The fundraising campaign aims to make a meaningful impact on the lives of these animals by channeling the generosity of pub-goers towards a cause that resonates within the local community. Each item from their dessert menu purchased at The Royal Oak and Game Cock Inn during February will contribute directly to the charity's efforts in rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming animals in need.

The pubs are not only renowned for their delicious carvery offerings but are also committed to making a positive difference in their community. By partnering with The Destitute Animals Shelter, The Royal Oak & Game Cock Inn hope to inspire patrons to join them in supporting a cause that aligns with their values.

Tracy Whitehead, Operations Manager for Blackrose Pubs said: “We are committed to positively influencing and driving change within our communities, and partnering with the Destitute Animals Shelter is a small step to spreading some positivity in the new year and bringing attention to a dedicated cause in our area.

“We hope this will be the first of many fundraising events throughout the year for local causes, and want all of our customers to get behind us in supporting our teams in donating wherever they can.”

This fundraising campaign is a testament to the pubs' dedication to social responsibility and community engagement. The Royal Oak & Game Cock Inn invite everyone to indulge their sweet tooth in February and join them in making a meaningful impact on the lives of destitute animals.
